The second Nick scented his mate he knew his life was about to be complete. He didn't care that he was a vampire and he didn't care if he was considered rogue. All Nick cared about was that fate had finally shined upon him. Until they mated and changes in his body began to drive him to the brink of insanity.

A new job in a new town was something Jagger had known was long overdue. He had been forced out of his coven and was only looking for a peace he had not had in months. Nick, his big grizzly bear, and leader of a small band of men, was the best and most welcome surprise to truly begin this new life. Nick being the fire chief of Maddox, Jagger worries for his mate, but knows that he will do everything he can to come home to him.

He never expected those fires to burn so close to home. When they do, will his mate be able to get to him in time?

My main problem with this series and the related Eternal Flame series is that the authors leave too many dangling threads. There are so many unanswered questions that arise in each installment that it's a bit annoying. I'm still waiting to hear what happened to Manny. It was briefly mentioned, but still no resolution. Then there is the issue of all the new dangling threads that appeared throughout this book. So many questions and no answers in sight.

That all being said, I did enjoy the book. I thought Nick and Jagger made a great couple. I totally bought into their mating. I am looking forward to reading more about the characters in both of these series. I just hope that we get some answers down the line.

A Bite To Remember Eternal Flames Maddox Book 2 edition by Cree Storm Maggie Walsh JP Graphics Designs Avril Stepowski Literature Fiction eBooks Reviews

Nic is an bear alpha, a fire chief, leader of his band of strays. He brings his band to Maddox, his fire crew, and while there meets Jagger. Jagger is a vampire and not your standard kind. Cree Storm and Maggie Walsh created an an interesting take on vampires and it'll be interesting to see how that plays out. I do wonder where they've been hiding even if scattered.

Nic is supportive of his mate and dedicated to his job. When push came to shove, Nic stood up for all he believed in, speaking up when so many wouldn't. He's a wonderful character with a few rough edges. Now a lot of this story is discussing things, meetings, with sharing or getting approval. Not too much exciting stuff going on, even the fire scenes are rather tame.

Jagger and Jewel were in danger, trapped, hurt, and fighting to survive when they 'finally' have a bonding moment. Of course Jewel is practically unconscious but maybe that's what it takes. First they have this intense conversation behind muffled gags and Jewel is whining about his phone. . Which shows the type of guy he is. . . Because you know, fighting for your life and your crying over your phone and swooning over the lost signal. . . And then to top off that scene, Jagger's first question to his mate Nic was about mate bonds that aren't complete. Really? You're thankful you're alive and trying to reach out and connect with the person most important to you, you're hurt, still afraid, but talking about incomplete mating bonds for Jewel? Really? Thank goodness Nic tells Jagger we'll talk about that later. Sheesh!

No, we didn't hear how if those incomplete mating bonds were fixed. We didn't hear if that was as important to Jewel as it was to Jagger. But, you know, when you're almost dying and struggling to survive and hurt, it's the most important thing on your mind.

Rune and Dane. Oh yeah. Tyler? Who in the heck is Tyler? And Jewel. He hasn't made up for his evil intentions. I was loaned an ebook copy of this story from a friend. - Dan's Wife
Very bad , I don't have in me to read a book where somebody like Jewel act so so so wrong in all his ways and with a single line the author wants to forgive and forget and where someone assure to be a friend and never saw o notice all the things his lovely mate do, this is too much absurd, I think this is my last book from this series
Omg I love this series. This was Jagger and Nick's story and what a story. Nick and Jagger no there mates immediately and waste no time mating the only thing they didn't expect their mating to have consciences. While these two are trying to figure out mated life the town is burning. Someone has been setting fires. When the truth is revealed is a shock to the while team. Jagger has to face his demons to be able to move forward. Wow just wow.
This series just gets better with each installment. I did find that this one had several editing errors in it that distracted (corp vs corps, tense/POV changes mid-paragraph), but I find that the story is so captivating that I don't feel like it detracts significantly.

I think that it's great that we are seeing more and more paranormal species hearing about the reunification of the Dragon and the Phoenix and finding hope in it. It also sounds like the fairies and elves probably aren't really all that bad either, it's just their leaders.

I can't wait to see who Dain will end up with and what kind of paradigm shifts will happen there!
